The AGF is a Fifth Columnist!
By Yemi Adegbite

I have said before that the AGF is a man to be watched in this administration. He has a secret agenda other than the one he declared in the public. His claim about the Rule of Law is all a ruse meant to deceive the Nigerian populace. I see him as the godfather of all the rogue governors and the discredited politicians with blood on their hands.
He came to the government or is planted in the government as a fifth columnist to subvert this administration. Most times, his pronouncements run counter to the good intentions of this government or so it appears. He was given as a Greek gift to the president, Alhaji Musa Yar’Adua. The earlier he is relieved of his post as widely demanded by many Nigerians, the better for this administration. Chief Michael Aondoakaa has shown himself as a black horse of this administration, too controversial in all his pronouncements; his nefarious activities will do this government no good. It is a truism that needs no further proof, that Nigerians are tired of the demagogues that called themselves leaders, but in the real sense, they are cheaters and thieves, he ( the AGF) should also know better that, these days Nigerians have zero tolerance for the politicians whose main agenda is to rob the nation blind, this is clearly demonstrated by every Nigerian home and abroad by their love and acceptance of Ribadu and his EFCC. Any assault on Ribadu and the EFCC is an assault against all Nigerians, it is an assault against the integrity of the nation, and all Nigerians will resist any attempt to drag Nigeria back to the “chop I chop era” Aondoakaa is plainly not working for the populace, he is against the prosecution of all the office robbers in high places, he has pitched his tent with the public enemies, and he is unfortunately ready to use his office and influence to shield them from justice! Both in deed and in his speeches, he has shown this without fear, he openly said that, the prosecution of Kalu by the EFCC is illegal, he shamelessly sent one of his boys to highjack Kalu’s prosecution from EFCC right in the public glare and a caused row in the court! Now Odili is justifiably calling on his majesty to shield him from the imminent justice that is knocking on his door. Mr. President, you do not need a seer or prophet to tell you that your AGF is a liability to your administration, he would cost you a great deal of harm unless you do away with him, and this you must do fast before it is too late.

Do not wait until this man causes you an irreparable damage. Already people at home, overseas Nigerians and other foreign observers are beginning to doubt your commitment to fight corruption in Nigeria. If you abandon this noble cause, you will regret it for life because you may never have another chance to prove yourself.
From day one, your AGF has never hidden his disdain for Ribadu and the agency he has the honour to chair, so, his public muscle flexing is not totally unexpected, but the onus is on you to call this man to order, because when all the chips are down, you will shoulder all the inequities of your lieutenants. It is clear that the AGF is serving the interests of his masters at your expense; you will pay a lot if you allow him to use your administration to feed his ego. The fight against curroption in Nigeria is a battle that must be won, no sacrifice will be too much and nothing will be too dear to give up in order to win this battle. EFCC has come to stay, the agency has developed it’s own life and character, any attempt to prevent it from carrying out it’s mandate, as you have seen would be met with stiff resistance. If Michael Aondoakaa does not know this, he has better known how to work with this body and change his belligerent posture towards the EFCC and Ribadu. I think the AGF should have a better thing to do than using his office to protect few people who used their offices to corner the wealth of the country. I love the way Ribadu accepts the challenges, he remains unmoved. In Ribadu’s words “my understanding of the rule of law does not support a situation where few persons corner all the wealth to themselves, leaving the rest to suffer in object poverty”. This is the voice of one man who has resolved to do whatever it takes to make good prevail over evil! I have no doubt that; all ordinary Nigerians are fully behind him. With his sheer honesty and hard work, he has endeared himself to all the good people of Nigeria. A servant cannot serve two masters, if the AGF believes that he’s representing the government, he cannot afford to work against the EFCC, if he chooses to work for the poachers and looters of the treasury, then he has all Nigerians and friends of Nigerians to contend with. I believe that, the president can see clearly that the rule of law is not the same thing as protecting the people who caused the present predicament that the country is facing. Nigerians have suffered enough in the hands of these fraudulent individuals, who unfortunately run the affairs of our dear country.

We carry the scar of corruption everywhere we go, the stigma of corruption is a limiting experience for aspiring Nigerians everywhere we find ourselves. No matter how hard we work, we are not trusted with power, we are not trusted with resources and our chances are limited just because we are identified as Nigerians. The good work of EFCC is recognized and applauded far beyond the shores of Nigeria, the EFCC since it’s inception has improved the public image of Nigerians, as such it is believed that, anybody with clear conscience and modicum of decency will not attack whoever represents the EFCC, let alone the AGF, hiding under the canopy of the so called “Rule of Law to curse the demise of EFCC! It is a paradox that the AGF would want to use the rule of law to protect the same people who wantonly disobeyed the law and breach their oath of office with impunity, to the detriment of all Nigerians. Whoever loves this man should tell him to stop this madness and work with his boss in good faith, to the benefit of the public, if he cannot do this, then, he has the choice to jump before he would be pushed.
