FOR US ALL!

he government is again taking all Nigerians for ride as
it always does. Right now, no body seems to be in-charge,
people are making random comments about what should or
shouldn't happen in the absence of the president. President
and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Alhaji Umaru
Yar'Adua had been in hospital in Saudi Arabia since November
23, yet, the VP cannot carry out the functions of the office
president normally, no credible information is coming out
as to the true condition of the president, rumors are flying
around in public places, citizens are helpless and nobody
gives a hoot. What manner of country is this? Utterances
of some government functionaries are downright embarrassing
and malicious, acrimony is thick in the air, no joke; Nigeria
is on her knees, begging for intervention.

I do not belief that, a country of Nigeria stature does
not have dignified way of governing itself in the absence
of the president. It is ridiculous that the AGF is suggesting
that, the president can still rule the country from his
sick bed in Saudi Arabia! Even with him physically on grounds,
he still does not show the type of aggressive leadership
that the country needs, let alone when he is far away in
Saudi with life threatening ailment.
What is wrong with these politicians? Why can't they see
beyond their noses? If Nigerians are actually in-charge
of their own affairs/destiny, if the people really determine
those who rule the country (as opposed the cash and carry
system presently in vogue) definitely these crops of leaders
should be declared clinically insane and unfit to rule
us; they all belong in a psychiatric ward. Nigeria and
Nigerians are worse off than any other time in the history
of that country. The tsunami going on in the banking industry
is another wildfire burning in every direction and consuming
everything in its path. The very poor ordinary workers
in the banks are at the receiving end, now being retrenched
in their thousands; yet, the master perpetrators are receiving
gentle kick with kids' gloves, and slaps on the wrists
if you like despite the grave consequence of their sacrilegious
and shameless act.
In a country that produces crude oil, perennial oil shortage
is not only an aberration, but criminal, and what does
our oil minister do, travel out of the country and having
a good time of his life! Take it or leave it, these people
are SICK. Many of these leaders deserve nothing but summary
execution. Corruption has come back now with full force,
ravaging every department of the country, the AGF Michael
Aondoakaa is the Ground Patron and Protector In-Chief of
all the rogue politicians in the country. What is left
in the country is basket mouthed politicians blaming one
another for the country's predicaments.
There is no succor for the country and no hope in sight,
with the stock of people at the helm of our affairs, all
we could expect in the New Year is more harrowing days
and more brouhaha, unless we as a people can step it up
and rise to the occasion to rescue
ourselves from the charlatans that call themselves our
leaders, as no nation can rise above the quality of its
leaders.
New Year, New Action
What should Nigerians do in the New Year to improve their
lots? Nigeria is for us all, we need to reach out and take
our collective destiny in our hands. None of these leaders
can claim to be more patriotic than any other Nigerian,
we all have equal stake in the entity called Nigeria, as
such, we must all take interest in who rules and he rules.
Enough of anything goes; history has shown that, people
will ride a willing horse to death. The New Year must be
a year of re-generation and a year of accountability. Nigerians
must stop the "rankadede" approach to those who
stole the public money and use the same money to oppress
the ordinary masses of the country. We have to do everything
possible to stop the rogue leaders including jungle justice,
force them if need be to be accountable to the people.
The conducts of these people make me sick; every piece
of news coming out of my country is un-palatable and sickening!
Year 2011 is now around the corner, these obnoxious leaders
are planning ahead and leaving no stone unturned, they
will do anything to gain power, and they can also give
it whatever it takes to retain power. The best antidote
is also for the people of the country to give it whatever
it takes to neutralize them and beat them at their own
games. We can't afford to go on like this. Life is so short,
Nigerians are suffering, we deserve a better life, God
has done His own part by giving us the necessary natural
endowment and human resources to match it, the calamity
and squalor we have in the country are man-made, and guess
what? Only we can help ourselves. There are no two ways
of doing this except to stand up to them "eyeball-
to- eyeball and nose- to -nose" and have a show down
with those who only represent themselves at our expense.
Nobody should be under any illusion that this will be
an easy battle, the ruling elites will not go down without
a huge fight, those who believe in Nigeria must convoke
now, and draw up an action plan to square it off with the "public
enemy", the New Year should mark the beginning of
a new milieu. I know for sure that my opinion is representative
of many over-seas Nigerians, Nigerians abroad are fed up
with many failed policies of the Nigerian government, government
in government out, our problems persist, nothing has improved,
and people are getting poorer and more desperate with every
single passing regime. As a matter of urgency, the madness
must stop; the politicians and their collaborators should
be shown the way out. Ghana is ahead of Nigeria today because
Rawlings took the risk not minding what people would say
about his actions, now history is on his side, there is
no way you can talk about Ghana's new found status without
mentioning the name Rawlings, unfortunately, providence
has not bestowed us with such a leader, then, we the masses
should take our future in our hands and press forward.
The ramification of our inaction will be calamitous, and
we will have no place when the history of Nigeria is re-written.
I am an eternal optimist, I believe in the future and
ascent of Nigeria, no-matter what, Nigeria will rise above
her present predicament and soar like an eagle! On this
positive note, I want to wish all Nigerians a Merry Xmas,
a Happy and Prosperous New Year in advance. May 2011 be
a year of courage, action plan, deliverance and momentous
New Year! May the enemies of our motherland be put to shame,
may we find the will and determination to act and re-possess
our land.
I will be back in 2010.
